AYU, LA VIE OU LA LONGÉVITÉ

L’Ayurvéda est la science de la connaissance d’Ayu, c’est-à-dire la vie

Pour Acharya Charaka, cette science définit Hitayu ou la vie positive, et Ahitayu ou la vie négative. Elle donne également des consignes sur les facteurs favorables ou défavorables à la vie. Enfin, elle se définit comme étant la vie elle-même.

L’Ayurvéda étudie l’état du corps vivant. Elle décrit les différents facteurs par lesquels l’Ayu d’une personne peut être évalué.

L’Ayu est un état d’unification des aspects suivants :

Sharira (corps physique)
Indriya (organes cognitifs)
Manas (tête)
Atma (esprit)

C’est cet ensemble qui fait la totalité d’un être humain vivant.

Les différents aspects (et synonymes) d’Ayu sont :

Nitayaga qui sert comme substrat permanent du corps
Anubhanda qui migre d’un corps à un autre
Dhari qui empêche la dégradation du corps
Jivitam qui maintient en vie

Ayu est tributaire du style de vie que l’on adopte.
